DAY 1 – HD WELCOME AND TRANSFER

Transfer by private car or VAN from Turin or Genoa airport to the hotel (4*)  in Genoa. Dinner on your own and overnight.

 

DAY 2 – HD GENOVA

Meet the English speaking guide and visit Genoa. The historic center is one of the largest and monumental of Europe.  The maze of alleyways amazes and fascinates, flipping before the eyes of travelers, a book of his history with stunning architecture pages. At each corner a hidden treasure:  from Commenda of Prè to Sarzano hill from the Banco di San Giorgio to San Matteo, through squares and alleys, arcades and medieval palaces, kiosks and tower-houses which alternate with noble palaces and churches, facades punctuated by white-black two-tone marble and slate and the beautiful baroque interior. Visit the Villa del Principe (Villa Doria), the richest and most sumptuous noble household of the city of Genoa, the Villa of the only Prince Genoa ever had. It was 1529 when Andrea Doria, skilful admiral and legendary man of arms, began the constructions that would have lead to the rise of this wonderful villa overlooking the Gulf of Genoa. This would become his peaceful spot, the return point from his numerous journeys and the household chosen for his successors: the Doria Pamphilj family. Here the Emperor Charles V was hosted during his official visits and was convinced by Andrea Doria to grant Genoa its independence from the empire. This made him by all means the Lord of the City. Lunch, afternoon and dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 3 – GENOVA – SESTRI LEVANTE

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer by private car or VAN from Genoa to your 4* hotel  in Sestri Levante. Lunch, afternoon and dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 4 – DAY AT LEISURE -  SUGGEST WORKSHOP + FOOD EXPERIENCE (see below)

Breakfast at your  hotel. Time at leisure to visit Sestri Levante or relax yourself  at the  beach. Lunch and dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 5 – FD CINQUETERRE

Breakfast at your  hotel. Today’s included full-day excursion by boat and train, takes you to the enchanting area known as the Cinque Terre. This translates as Five Lands and refers to the five villages, which perch precariously on the cliffs high above the Mediterranean Sea and are almost all inaccessible by road. Escorted by your guide you’ll discover that each village has its own unique character. Meet the English speaking guide and departure by public boat to Riomaggiore. During the sailing, you can see “La Via dell’Amore” (the “Love Path”), a pedestrian itinerary  carved in the steep rocks falling sheer into the sea and characterized by a typical Mediterranean scenery, deep scents of plants and herbs and the fascination of isolated inlets.  Arrival in RIOMAGGIORE, the oldest village in the CINQUE TERRE. Visit this small country and by train go to VERNAZZA, one of the pearls of the Cinque Terre, a magical village distributed around a harbor and surrounded by spectacular natural landscape. His appearance is still that of a fishing village, despite the great tourist bustle, and contend before when you come from the sea, or from the hills after a long hike, it's like being in front of an art gallery in the open. Nature has painted the area with the colors more intense her, the man giving the molded shapes and pastel colors. Lunch at your own. In the afternoon continue by train to MONTEROSSO, the westernmost village protected by hills covered with vineyards and olive groves. Visit the village, renowned for its beautiful beaches, steep rugged cliffs and crystal-clear waters, which make this one of the most charming resorts on the Ligurian Riviera. Time at leisure, and return by train to Sestri Levante. Dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 - DAY AT LEISURE  - COOKING CLASS SUGGEST (see below)

Breakfast at your  hotel. Time at leisure to visit Sestri Levante or stay in beach. Lunch and dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 7 – FD – RECCO - CAMOGLI

Breakfast at your  hotel. Meet your English speaking guide and  departure by private car to Recco;  visit the Parish Church of St John the Baptist and John Bono. Already ancient building of worship of Recchelino village, today's parish structure was completely rebuilt between the forties and fifties of the twentieth century after the massive aerial bombardments that took place during World War II.  Do not miss to taste the famous Recco's  focaccia with  cheese. Lunch at your own. In the afternoon, by private car, transfer to  Camogli. It’s a fishing village with its typical high buildings in soft pastel colors that are reflected in the sea. Way back to Sestri Levante. Dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 8 - DEPARTURE

Breakfast at your hotel. Time at leisure for shopping or relax. Transfer by private car or minivan to the  airport (Turin or Genoa).

 

 

Extra day – SANTA MARGHERITA – S. FRUTTUOSO - PORTOFINO

Meet the English speaking guide and departure by train to Santa Margherita and spend the morning in this beautiful seaside town.  Although relatively unknown, the town is teeming with character. Its harbour, which hosts a morning fish market, is a magnet for small yachts and you won’t tire of strolling around this picture-postcard setting. Then , by public boat you will reach    S. Fruttuoso abbey (VIII° century), where Prospero, bishop of Tarragona,  fleeing  from Spain invaded by the Arabs, chose the bay to shelter and build a church to  preserve the relics of the martyr Fruttuoso. Much of the Abbey dates back to the X-XI century. From the thirteenth century the fortunes of San Fruttuoso became intertwined with that of the Doria family, who commissioned the renovation of the building, by building the abbey which overlooking the sea. Lunch at your own. In the afternoon the tour goes on by boat towards Portofino, along a pretty coastal stretch. What used to be a tiny fishing port is today the Italian Riviera’s most exclusive resort offering designer boutiques and a fine selection of cafés and bars.  Stroll among its snaking streets to the Church of St Giorgio, which is a short distance from the harbour. From here the view across the bay is spectacular. Time at leisure, and way back by public boat to Sestri Levante. Dinner at your own. Overnight at the hotel.

 DAY 6: COOKING CLASS & SHOW COOKING WITH TASTING IN SESTRI LEVANTE : MINIMUM 2 PAX

PESTO IN THE HORTAR AND FRESH PASTA (CORZETTI OR TROFIE) The preparation of the pesto in the mortar, ancient Ligurian recipe stili charming far the peculiarity of its cooking process. Using high-quality products, our expertise will lead the participants to a trip back in time, discovering the ancient tradition which still I nowadays brings on our tables such a special sauce as pesto is.

GENOESE FOCACCIA AND FOCACCIA AL FORMAGGIO

A class dedicated to the secrets of the kneading techniques, the secrets of leavening and the cooking methods to prepare the bakery products, symbol of the Ligurian cooking.

THE SECRETS OF THE LIGURIAN COOKING

The typical recipes of focaccia, fresh pasta and sauces. The precious rediscovery of the local oil, wine and raw materials, selected according to the season and provided with the precious cooperation of our local producers. For example: vegetable pies, corzetti and pansotti, walnut and pine nuts sauce, Genoese pandolce.
